Description
Rands is a small, friendly, family-run language school in Hebden Bridge. The town is in the beautiful Calderdale countryside of West Yorkshire. Rands provides English language tuition for groups and individuals. Rands provides group lessons and courses, and one-to-one lessons. Rands' teaching prepares you to communicate better in English. Lessons include reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. Because the school is small, you will get really great tuition and 1:1 care and attention.

Summer School -

Price includes:
- The Rands Summer School takes place in July and August. Students can study General English for 15 hours a week for a minimum of two weeks up to a maximum of 6 weeks. Summer School students have a social and cultural programme included with excursions to the museums, local cities and countryside. We visit York, Manchester, Liverpool and the Lake District. Manchester United football stadium is near to the school. The Summer School is great fun and helps you to get to know the other international students and practise your English.
- IELTS (International English Language Testing System) preparation classes will be available for students who also want to take an IELTS examination in order to progress to other courses in September.
- Homestay accommodation is available for Summer School students.

- This course will help you to improve your English in all four skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking. Develop your confidence using English as you learn and practise with other students.
- This course offers all that the General English course offers and also enables you to work towards gaining an internationally-recognised University of Cambridge ESOL qualification in KET, PET, FCE, CAE or CPE.
You can study for the Cambridge ESOL exams with Rands. These include KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE. These qualifications are the world's leading certificates for learners of English. Each year they are taken by over 2 million people, in 130 countries. They can help you get into a university or college, improve your job prospects and measure your progress in English. - Rands knows that studying in a class with only female students will be good for some students. This option is available for those who wish to study this way.
Accommodation

- Rands can arrange for students to stay in serviced accommodation in Hebden Bridge or the surrounding area.
- Homestay
- Homestay means staying with a British family. This way you will have the best chance to experience British culture and lifestyle. You will be able to practise the English that you learn in the classroom. Most of our students choose to stay with an English family. Our host families’ homes are very close to Rands. You will be able to walk or take a short bus journey from your homestay to school (no more than 20 minutes). If you need it, your homestay can provide a vegetarian diet or cook halal meat for you.
Your accommodation will be one of the most important parts of your life in Hebden Bridge. When you are away from home, we want you to feel safe and comfortable. Rands will help to make sure that your homestay provides this.
You have your own bedroom with a table, chair and lighting for private study. You will have breakfast and evening meal during the week, plus lunches at the weekends. Towels and bed linen are provided and are cleaned weekly.
Homestay is not expensive. Homestay fees are only £105.00 per week. - Private Rental Accommodation
- Rands has furnished apartments for students to use and rent short-term. They have a fully-fitted kitchen, complete with all cutlery and crockery. Also included is internet access (WiFi throughout the building), TV with Sky and DVD player, an iron and ironing board, and even an alarm clock! These extras will make your stay feel like a real home from home. There is secure parking too. We have a selection of accommodation from luxurious Penthouse through to Superior and Standard Apartments. It is possible to rent these from just one night or for the longer term.

Social Programme
Rands has a social programme during July and August. Student take a trip one day each week. Students can join trips to museums and local cities, such as York, Manchester and Leeds. Manchester United football stadium is near. The Bronte museum in Haworth is also very close to the school.
