Description
If you want to succeed in business or education, effective English communication is the key. The edUKate English Language Centre at Kirklees College offers you a wide range of courses to help achieve your goals. Our British Council-accredited centre has an excellent reputation for providing specialist and flexible courses, from beginner to advanced level, in mixed nationality groups. We are also members of English UK and English UK North.
We offer general and academic English programmes, in full-time, part-time and intensive study modes. Students can gain Cambridge main suite qualifications such as Key English Test (KET), Preliminary English Test (PET), First Certificate (FCE) and Advanced (CAE). Our courses also give excellent IELTS preparation, providing a gateway to a variety of further and higher education courses in the UK. Our year-round provision includes an English Language Summer School, combining study with social activities, as well as allowing students to combine their English studies with vocational training.
We also offer a number of specialist programmes, including the NCUK IFY in Design, which guarantees successful students a place at a top UK university.
Throughout the year students have access to excellent facilities and support at the College. Students can stay with one of our registered homestay families, or self-catering accommodation can be organised, if preferred. Opportunities to meet and socialise with English students are an integral part of our curriculum and social programme via our Global Village initiative. We also have strong links to the local community. Huddersfield is a lively, multicultural town offering excellent leisure and cultural facilities. It has a low cost of living, making it very popular with UK and international students. It also offers easy access to the major cities of Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield, all a short train ride away. London is just two and a half hours away by train.
Course fees for the full academic year are £4,950, or £4,750 for full payment in advance of your course starting. Shorter courses are also available, from £155 per week.
